1. What data does Biblione store?
Biblione stores only the data necessary for the app to function:
- Your first name (entered during onboarding, optional, to personalize the home screen)
- Your profile photo (selected from your photo library, optional, used only as an avatar within the app)
- Your reading program (1 year or custom) and its start date
- Your read chapters and the date each one was marked
- Your settings (light/dark theme, text size, language, daily reminder time)
2. Where is this data stored?
On your device
All data is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's standard storage APIs (AsyncStorage / NSUserDefaults). If you uninstall Biblione, this data is deleted.
In your personal iCloud (optional)
If you have iCloud sync enabled (on by default, can be disabled in Settings → iCloud), your data is also stored in your personal iCloud account via NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore. This allows your progress to follow you across Apple devices signed in to the same Apple ID. Apple manages this sync directly; Biblione never sees your iCloud credentials.
3. What data is sent to servers?
None. Biblione contains:
- No analytics service (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
- No advertising tracker (IDFA, fingerprinting, etc.)
- No third-party data collection SDK
- No crash reporting service (Sentry, Bugsnag, etc.)
- No telemetry mechanism
The only network requests the app initiates are those you deliberately trigger by tapping links: opening jw.org in Safari or launching JW Library. Those sites follow their own privacy policies, independently of Biblione.
4. Notifications
If you enable the daily reminder, Biblione schedules a local notification at the time you choose. This notification is triggered by your iPhone itself, with no external server. No push token is sent anywhere.
5. iOS permissions requested
| Permission | Reason | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Notifications | Daily reminder (if enabled by you) | No |
| Photo Library (read) | Choose a profile photo | No |
| iCloud Drive | Sync between Apple devices | No |
All these permissions can be denied or revoked at any time in iOS Settings, with no major impact on the app's core functionality.
6. Your rights
Since no data is collected by us, there is nothing to request, modify, or delete on Biblione's side. To erase all your data:
- Uninstall Biblione from your iPhone
- Delete the associated iCloud data: iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Biblione → Delete Data
7. Children and privacy
Biblione is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. The app does not request any personally identifiable information and does not facilitate communication with third parties. No chat, no social network, no public profile.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes (e.g. with the Friends feature planned for 2026), we will update this page and notify users in the next app update. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
